"We wanted to change the Earth, but the Earth has informed us that we need to change."

50th anniversary Earth Day 2020

Earth Day’s 50th anniversary with the global call for environmental reform by many organizations, comes at a time when human health and survival has never been more pressing. The current economic system is at the expense of people, animals, nature and the climate.

The ecological damage done to our planet in the past 270 years is enormous. With 50 years of Earth Day, it is therefore also remarkable that after 270 years of industrial revolution, the earth recovers because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many factories and companies are forced to reduce or close production completely.

The lesson for all of us is that we as humans must respect nature, which provides resistance to disease. The Covid-19 Pandemic and Earth Day 2020 teaches us that there must always be a balance between man and nature. “We wanted to change the Earth, but the Earth has informed us that we need to change.”
