Green Cross Netherlands will soon launch her sustainability speaker platform Speakers for Awareness (SfA). Through SfA we create awareness by offering speakers with a good story about sustainability – while the speakers donate their fees to impact projects of NGOs.
Recently, we have been selected to participate in the Accelerator program of the nonprofit crowdfunding platform GlobalGiving. Because of this, the realization of this great project came within reach. To succeed in the Accelerator, we have to raise at least €4.500 of at least 40 donors before 29 June. If we reach this goal, we will get a permanent spot on the GlobalGiving website, where we get access to a worldwide network of donors. We can kick-off the SfA project when we raise €15.000 for building a professional international speaker platform.

In the first year, we expect to reach 10.000 people through the speakers of the SfA platform with a sustainable message and collect €165.000 in donations for impact projects. For example, with just one lecture through SfA, 125 people in Mozambique (after the hurricane Idai) can be reconnected to the water network and have fresh and safe drinking water – through an impact project of Water for Life.
